Happy World Book Day!

Observed by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) since April 23, 1995, today marks the 27th annual World Book Day! It’s a day of celebration to promote the enjoyment of books and reading. Why books? They bridge our past with our future, open our minds to new worlds and perspectives, teach us, inspire us, and connect us. Books are universal treasures that must be protected at all costs. So in honor of today, we bring you some of our nearest and dearest manuscripts.

The Secret – Rhonda Byrne

Some might argue that The Secret opened the door for millennial obsession with the Law of Attraction. Originally published in November 2006, The Secret teaches the power of psychological attraction and how a shift in mental focus can change your life. It’s been translated into 50+ languages and has sold more than 35 million copies worldwide.

The Coldest Winter Ever – Sister Souljah

From one extreme to the next, lol. The Coldest Winter Ever is a cult-classic fictional story based on Winter Santiaga, the Brooklyn-bred first-born daughter of drug kingpin, Ricky Santiaga. Released in April 1999, The Coldest Winter Ever took African-American culture by storm, selling over one million copies and spawning both a prequel and sequel.

A Time to Kill – John Grisham

If hitting a home run on the first pitch were a book, John Grisham’s debut novel, A Time to Kill, is that novel. Legend has it he wrote every morning at 5 a.m. for three years before heading off to his day job as an attorney. Ok, ok… I read that on his author page on amazon. But still, that’s an impressive feat. And 28 consecutive #1 best-selling fiction books later, I’d say it was well worth the sacrifice.

In The Meantime: Finding Yourself and the Love You Want – Iyanla Vanzant

Because who doesn’t need love advice from “the most powerful spiritual healer, fixer, teacher on the planet?” You’ve likely heard of Iyanla Vanzant or seen her on television as the host of Iyanla: Fix My Life. But trust that her spoken wisdom is no substitute for her written words. In The Meantime is a powerful guide to decluttering your mental space and elevating your spirit. Vanzant has written over 80 publications, and In The Meantime is a must-read.

Fix Your Thoughts: Empowering Yourself to Make Peace with the Past, Embrace the Present, and Look Forward to Your Future – Yours Truly

This is an independent review, and I have no connection with the author. 🤣 Just kidding! I’ve never written about my book, but it is one of my life’s favorite chapters. Having struggled with negative thinking for most of my life, I’ve tried all tactics known to man to combat them! It’s super short but powerful, or so I’ve been told.😩 And it’s my absolute favorite book of all time.

So there you have it! Happy World Book Day! Share words of encouragement with someone you love today. Love and Hugs!
